Learn And Master Guitar

.
The Learn and Master guitar program is hands down the best program on the market. Yes, there are other programs that are available, but this one is by far the best. This is more than just a “training” program, it is almost like you are taking a how to play guitar course at a university.

Steve Krenz is a master studio musician who has played with many of the top artists including Grammy winning artists: Donna SummerThe Fifth Dimension, Israel Houghton, and Tommy Sims (producer, renowned bass player for Bruce Springsteen and co-writer of Eric Clapton’s Grammy-winning song “Change the World”). He has also performed with multiple platinum selling artists as well.

What is really great about the way Steve teaches this course is his laid back style. While the quality is really well done, you get a since that Steve is sitting right there in your living room. He even makes a couple mistakes when he is talking and just laughs them off.  “Hey, I’m human” he says.

The course its self is broken down into 7 sections and is designed to save you from information overload.

Sessions is the first part and is actually broken down into twenty different sessions. Each session builds upon the last, so it works really well if you follow them in order. You learn both guitar and musical concepts in these lessons.  There are 20 dvds, one for each session.  You get a sense of just how good Steve Krenz is at the beginning of each lesson. As the lessons progress, so do the impressiveness of the intro’s he plays at the beginning.

.

Practice Time is at the end of each dvd and Steve practices right along with you. The tempo’s start out slow and then pick up as the practice session winds down. In the instructional manual that comes with the program, you are also given an “estimated time to learn” each lesson.  So it tells you how long it will take you to master each lesson before you would want move on to the next. Obviously some people learn slower or faster than others, so this is just an estimation.

.

The DVD’s : There are 20 DVD’s and each has an extensive instruction time that is then followed up by a shorter workshop time.  The workshop is where you practice along with Steve what you learned in that particular lesson. This is an awesome feature as it teaches you how you should practice.

.

The Workshop Time: This is what is meant to be used during your daily practice time. The time of these workshops is around 15 minutes and allows you to practice the major points of each lesson. The start of slow and then gradually increase to the speed you need to be at before moving on to the next lesson. Because Steve is practicing right there with you, you don’t have to wonder what speed you need to be at. When you can keep up with him, you are ready to move on.

.

The Lesson Book: The lesson book includes all of the songs, examples and exercises that are on the DVD’s. There is also additional exercises inside it as well. The book is laid out in an excellent fashion and is very easy to understand. It also tells you at the beginning of each chapter what the “estimated time” it will take you to master the lesson and move on to the next.

.

Jam Along Cd’s: This is where you really get to have a lot of fun with this program. These cd’s are recorded songs that you will find in your lesson book. You get to play along with the songs and put into action what you have learned. Each CD goes along with certain lessons and is also recorded in the “left” channel, so you can turn it down by adjusting the balance on your stereo and play the song without the recorded guitar.  Just you!

.

Members Only Website: Inside the members only website you will find more resources, a bonus lesson book (that is really really good), more exercises and a community of other guitar players. What is really cool is that Steve actually does participate in the forum. Unlike many other program creators, he is a big part of the community and answers questions frequently.

All in all, if you are serious about learning how to play guitar, this is the program to do it. I have taken private lessons many times, but this program by far exceeded any teaching that I ever received from a private instructor.

Not to mention that private lessons are expensive and you are really limited by how well the instructor teaches.  Two lessons with a private instructor cost the same amount as the entire program of Learn and Master Guitar.
